Knee and Ankle Physiotherapy

The knee and ankle work closely together to absorb load during walking, running, and sport, so problems in one joint often affect the other. At Calwell Physiotherapy Clinic, we assess both the local joint and the broader movement chain — including hip and foot function — to understand what's driving your symptoms.

Conditions we commonly manage:

  • Patellofemoral (kneecap) pain
  • ACL, MCL, and meniscus injuries, including post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Ankle sprains, including recurrent instability
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis and related foot and ankle pain
  • Post-fracture rehabilitation for the knee, ankle, or foot

Our approach

Assessment looks at joint movement, strength, and how you load the knee and ankle during functional tasks like walking, squatting, or running. Depending on your condition, treatment may include manual therapy, a structured strengthening and balance program, taping or bracing advice, and graded return to walking, sport, or exercise. For post-surgical patients, we work through a staged rehabilitation program aligned with your surgeon's protocol where one has been provided.
